Herman Baca papers, 1964-2004.

Biographical materials include interviews,writings, awards, subject files, and newspaper clippings documenting Baca's political and community activism. Subject files and correspondence related to the development and organization of the Mexican-American Political Association and La Raza Unida Political Party in San Diego. Records and founding documents of the Committee on Chicano Rights, especially membership, publicity, fundraising, and community events and social protests. Includes extensive subject files on Chicano issues, organizations, individuals, and activities in the San Diego and Mexican border region; a chronological newspaper clipping file (1964-2004); videorecordings of interviews with Baca and CCR events; abundant photographs documenting people and events; artworks by Chicano artists; and examples of Chicano movement art. Also included are production files and graphic materials related to Chicano issues and events, printed by Aztec Printing, Baca's printing business.
